I believe that technology has been appropriately embedded into in today’s classroom. I have observed students using it for multimedia projects, powerpoint presentations, researching subject matter and even using the technology to connect with other classmates, including the teacher. Educators may also use technology in the classroom as an effect way of teaching. I no longer see projectors being used, but machines line the ELMO and smart boards to display the material.

The use of Youtube, GoNoodle and other educational sites are used to promote collaborative activities and in some cases, movement like dance in the classroom. There is a new application in particular called “Google Classroom”. It is used to connect students work to the teacher allowing it to be accessible and encouraging students to use technology but in a productive manner. Moreover, selective students are also now allowed to listen to music to as they work, some find it very helpful, calming and helps them focus. This in relation to the recent exposure of mental health is an antecedent strategy to help prevent anxiety for overwhelmed students.

Technology is also a good outlet for those with mental health challenges to find alternatives for dealing with stress and other overwhelming factors.
This shift in technology is transformative and relevant to this generation. Keeping up with the technologic evolution is essential in education.
